Ananthapuri Hospitals & Research Institute (AHRI) is a 450-bed tertiary care hospital located in the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala, complete with 13 intensive care units and 10 operating units. AHRI is the first tertiary hospital project of Ananthapuri Hospitals Private Limited. It was started in September 2005, under the able leadership of Padma Shri Dr A. Marthanda Pillai, and inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Sri. Oomen Chandy.
AHRI stands tall at the prime location on the Kovalam Bypass Road, within just 3 km of the Trivandrum International Airport, Thampanoor Bus Stand, and Trivandrum Central Railway Station.
Over the past decades, Kerala has seen a high influx of patients from many foreign countries, all of whom are in search of the best healthcare solutions at economical costs. Our 30-bed Neonatal and Pediatric ICU Complex is the largest and best equipped in Kerala, in terms of both infrastructure and trained personnel. The Obstetrics and Gynecology Department is complete with an infertility unit, gyn-oncological surgeries, and modern birth suites. Our highly successful Kidney Transplantation Program, with both pediatric and adult transplants, works excellently between the Nephrology and Urology Departments. Our Cardiac Department is one of the finest in Kerala, complete with a cutting-edge Electrophysiology Program for heart failures and complex heart rhythm disorders.
In 2017, AHRI underwent a complete facelift, unveiling a new building with the most modern quaternary care, which was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala, Sri. Pinarayi Vijayan.
In the last 13 years, AHRI has emerged as a centre of excellence, drawing people from all over the country and abroad. We are widely accepted as one of the best quaternary referral centres in South India. Our proudest achievement is that we are deemed Number One in Head Injury and Trauma Care – an accolade that single-handedly exhibits our strength in the specialities of Neurosurgery and Neurology, Critical Care and Anesthesia, Interventional Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Orthopaedics, General Surgery as well as Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery!
