The Department Radiation Oncology delivers individualized radiation treatment with high end technology adhering to AERB (Atomic Energy Regulatory Board) guidelines. Radiation therapy uses X-rays at high energy to kill dangerous cancer cells without affecting the function of nearby organs.The department is currently equipped with the latest Elekta Versa HDRS (High Definition Dynamic Radio Surgery). With this state of the art linear accelerator, we are able to deliver radiation with high efficacy and very minimal toxicity.
Radiation treatment also helps in organ conservation and avoids surgery in some cases where it can affect the quality of life like rectum, head and neck cancers. It also helps in organ conservation surgeries like cancer involving rectum, breast etc.
Our team is comprised of experienced and certified Radiation oncologists, Radiation physicists, Radiation therapists, and Oncology nurses. All patients will be discussed in a Multi Disciplinary tumor board comprising of a panel of doctors where the treatment plan is finalized with strict adherence to ESTRO, NCCN and ASTRO guidelines.Our Radiation Therapy team helps in treatment planning of the patients, periodic quality assurance of all the treatments as well as machines and equipments, ascertaining radiation safety of the staff and public.

The Department of Nuclear Medicine uses radioactive medicines for diagnosis and treatment of various diseases. A small dose of radioactive tracer or radioactive medicine is administered into the patient body by injection/ingestion/inhalation for analysing the physiology of various organs and tissues of the body.
Nuclear Medicine studies and therapies play a very useful role in early diagnosis and targeted treatment of diseases like various cancers, Cardiovascular disease, Thyroid disease, Kidney disease, and Neurological diseases. Our Nuclear Medicine Department isequipped with United Imaging uMI 550 Digital PET CT (80 SLICE) system and Siemens Symbia Gamma Camera for imaging.
In theranostics, there are 4 therapy rooms for different radionuclide therapies, which includes 1-131 radioiodine therapy for hyperthyroidism and thyroid cancers, Ga-68 PSMA for diagnosis of prostate cancer, Lu-177/Ac-225/Tb-161 PSMA for treatment of prostate cancer. For diagnosis of neuroendocrine tumors, Ga-68-DOTANOC is used and Lu-177/Ac-225/Tb-161 DOTATATE for treatment of neuroendocrine tumors. These radionuclide therapies are targeted at specific cancer cells with minimal harm to normal cells,giving good disease control with better quality of life.
