Highlights include the stunning Golden Hall with its intricate, carved wooden coffered ceiling, the Blue Hall, and the Knights' Hall. The castle's interiors are remarkably well-preserved, reflecting the sensitive approach of its successive noble owners.
The chateau and its surrounding English-style park and fishpond system create a perfect, fairytale setting that often serves as a backdrop for Czech movies and fairy tales.
The Belp Bridge in Telč is not a famous, large structure but rather refers to one of the essential, smaller stone bridges that connect the historic, island-like town center with the surrounding land. Located near the eastern end of the town, it crosses the Ulický Pond (or the Telč Moat system).
Historically, these bridges were vital parts of the town's medieval defensive system, working in conjunction with the massive stone town walls and the encircling chain of fishponds. The square is a magnificent example of Renaissance urban planning following a devastating fire in the 16th century. It is defined by a continuous, perfectly preserved row of colorful, bourgeois houses, each featuring distinct Renaissance and Baroque facades.
